Louis Vuitton Wardrobe Trunk
€ 22 000
Crafted for both ladies and gentlemen, this Louis Vuitton trunk dates back to the third decade of the twentieth century. It is a Malle Armoire, which is a vertically opening wardrobe trunk in two parts, internally equipped with two wardrobe sections for hanging clothes.
Covered in Monogram canvas, invented in 1896 by Georges Vuitton, son of Louis. The hardware is brass, and the locks and nails are stamped. The initials "M.T.M." provide information about the first owner. It features an opening shoe compartment lined with velvet, and the original product label.
The Malle Armoire is a true travel furniture piece, ingeniously designed internally to transport hanging clothes without creasing. Louis Vuitton trunks, iconic decorative and collectible items, are still durable and waterproof today, exemplary of fine craftsmanship.
